The Buried Alive Film Fest is an annual horror film festival held in Atlanta, Georgia. They have worked in partnership with such community groups as Zombie Walk Atlanta, Splatter Cinema, and the Sliver Scream Spook Show. The ninth annual festival is scheduled for November 7 and 8, 2014 and they are now open for submissions. Below is the festival’s official press release:
The 2014 Buried Alive Film Festival is opening its call for submissions. The ninth annual underground, horror film festival is proud to be back on November 7 and 8, 2014, at the historic Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
The 2013 Buried Alive Film Festival was a big success with its most internationally diverse line-up to date. “We also had the best turnout in attendance from our own backyard with more films from Georgia than ever before and had a great time teaming up with the Association Internationale Du Film D’Animation (ASIFA) Atlanta to curate our first animation program which will be returning in 2014,” says Festival Director Blake Myers.
Now Buried Alive is on the hunt again for the world's strangest, weird and disturbing films in the horror, dark fantasy and psychotronic genres.
“We hope your film has what it takes to horrify and disgust us!” Myers says. “Be it animation, documentary, narrative, experimental, short or feature, just send it our way, and our selection committee will see if your film has what it takes to be Buried Alive!”
In an effort to support independent filmmakers, Buried Alive tries to keep its submission fees reasonable. Applicants are advised to submit early to get the best pricing. In addition, for the first time, the 2014 festival is waiving all submission fees for Georgia filmmakers to help showcase the state’s local talent.
The festival categories are “Short Submission” (60 minutes or less) and “Feature Submission” (60 minutes or longer). And rates are:

Regular Submission
April 1 - July 31, 2014
Shorts: $10.00
Features: $20.00
Late Submission
August 1 - September 15
Shorts: $20.00
Features: $40.00
